I mentioned in a previous blog about the LFA running into trouble getting recognized as an official club. It turns out the letter they received telling them of their rejection was simply misleading. The clubs committee believed the club was going to be exclusively for those who have no religion (which isn't allowed), while the letter they sent seemed to imply they were rejecting the club proposal on the grounds that they would be promoting a life without religion.
They've since been recognized, and have been getting massive media attention over this whole thing (Globe and Mail, The Record, and Cord Weekly). I'm glad it turned out the letter was just very poorly phrased and that the club committee wasn't just being discriminatory.
